Daniel S. Abrams

Dr. Abrams is currently a research scientist in the Quantum Computing Technologies Group at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, California Institute of Technology. He received his Bachelor of Science in physics from Stanford University with honors, distinction, and Phi Beta Kappa. He was awarded one of six Department of Defense fellowships in physics and earned his Ph.D. at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Dr. Abrams was a co-founder of Jackson Software, Inc., the leading provider of classroom management software, with site-wide licenses in more than 10,000 schools worldwide. He is also a co-founder of Edline, Inc., a leading provider of internet technology for K-12 schools.

Dr. Abrams has worked on diverse topics including theoretical condensed matter physics, quantum chaos, photonic band gap materials, artificial intelligence, cryptography, software engineering methodology, theoretical computer science, and photolithography. He is a member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and the American Physical Society (APS).

Current research interests include quantum algorithms, novel uses of quantum information, and quantum devices.
